A little something about our flowers

We are a cut flower farm that focuses on providing arrangements for our community.  Therefore, we try to make sure we grow a little bit of everything from focal flowers to foliage. We have both perennials and annuals.

Each year we add to our perennial section which currently includes lilies, daffodils, alliums, peonies, yarrow, cone flowers, bee balm, figwort, sweet williams, nigella, bupleurum, globe thistle, feverfew, poppy’s, herbs and so many more.

We also grow a large number of annuals which we start from seed either in our makeshift growing room in our basement or using the milk jug method for cold hardy annuals.  Some of the annuals we grow include asters, celosia, strawflower, rudbeckia, zinnias, basil, stock, scabiosa, statice, sunflowers, lisiantus, bells of Ireland, and eucalyptus.  Each year we test out a few flower varieties that are new to us.

We also grow a few varieties that require us to dig and store them every year  These include ranunculus, cannas, gladiolus, dahlias, and calla lilies.  Our nearly 1,000 dahlia plants really steal the show in September and consume most of our fall and winter months with the digging and storing process.
